Concept behind LBA100

LBA 100 is a concept where you can get integration of Sri Lanka’s best 100 MSME and Entrepreneurs. Till now, you have to find this type of research from media, press release, magazines or web research but LBA100 Business Awards is for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises which are doing quality work in products, services and management. They get platform for professional growth however; they don’t believe in more revenue and also end users easily get this list.

What is "MSME"?

If you don’t know whether your firm comes under MSME or not, LBA100 Awards can help you in finding a solution.

  • According to the LBA100 Business Awards, if your business enterprise is engaged with production and your turnover in plant or machineries is not over 3M then it comes under the Micro Enterprise.
  • If it’s more than 5m and less 7M then it comes under the Small Enterprise.
  • If the investment is more than Rs. 10M and less than 50M then it falls under the Medium Enterprise.

Note: These guidelines are as per LBA100 Business Awards. The MSME guidelines of The Government of Sri Lanka may differ.

Methodology Of LBA100

At LBA 100 Business Awards, we follow a very easy and straightforward methodology. Let’s take a quick look at it:

 

  • Application Screening

Initially, we invite applications for all our awards categories and all the applications go through the application screening procedure to check the authenticity of applications. All the applications should be submitted in the required format with required documents attached.

  • Document Verification

After getting all the applications, we start our verification process where all the submitted applications and documents get verified for the authenticity.

  • Shortlisting Confirmation

After the verification process is completed, we shortlist the candidates or companies and send them confirmation about their selection for LBA 100 Business Awards.

  • Premises Visit

After sending the selection confirmation, our team will visit your premises if required for physical verification and confirmation of the company and its workings.

  • Final Evaluation

After document verification and premises visit, your application goes for final evaluation.

  • Selection Committee’s Assessment

  • Winners Get Informed Through Mail

The winners get informed through mail with all the further procedures and proceedings.

  • Winners’ List Published

After selection of winners, we publish the final list of LBA 100 Business Awards winners.

Note: The category of applicant will be determined by considering all above criteria (Number of employees, Capital Employed and Revenue. If any one criteria falls into a higher category, that category will apply to the applicant. Only one category should be indicated in the application.

    Young Entrepreneur of the Year

    A business owner who has achieved significantly in his entrepreneurial venture at a young age. (Must be 35 years or less of age)

    Serial Entrepreneur of the Year

    Entrepreneur for creating and demonstrating multiple ventures successfully- from business ideation, implementing it through new venture, creating value for stakeholders, having floated IPO or raised external capital at a later stage; demonstrating exceptional success and has the will and spirit to do it all again.

    Student Entrepreneur of the Year

    Did you start writing your business plan alongside that all important essay, whether you’re in school, college or university, if you’ve been juggling your studies with your start-up, why not challenge your inner young-apprentice, and compete to take home the ‘Student Entrepreneur of the Year’ title.

    Intrapreneur of the Year

    Are you an inside entrepreneur, or an entrepreneur within a large firm who’s used your trailblazer skills to innovate and lead a new internal enterprise, avoiding common start-up risks? The Intrapreneur of the Year would recognize someone who has been given the authority and support to create or develop a new project and has turned it into a profitable venture for the company.

    Micro /Small online business Entrepreneur of the year

    This Award will recognize businesses that earn 40% or more of their revenue online. you could be an online retailer or an online game etc.

    Green Entrepreneur of the Year

    This entrepreneur will specialize in environmental industries, clean tech and sustainability. There will be clear evidence of their positive environmental impact and their business’ ability to create positive change and influence thinking.

    Acharya of the Year / Business Mentor of the Year

    Individual, may or may not have been an entrepreneur, but contributed in significant and visible manner and having played an exceptional role in guiding, leading and influencing a ward’s project / business

    Entrepreneur of the Year in Trading Business

    A business owner or founder of an organization who is into Trading / distribution of product / services in the class of (Distributor/Dealer/Retailer/Wholesaler or C&F /Broker /e-Retailer)
